Спящая царевна
Vasily Zhukovsky · 1831
Василий Жуковский
Eleven sorceresses are invited to the tsar's feast, but the twelfth, old and wicked, is forgotten — and she foretells the tsar's daughter death at the age of sixteen. One of the sorceresses manages to soften the sentence. A verse retelling by Zhukovsky, written in the spirit of Russian folk tales.
