Yesterday and Today
Neighbour: You sat here yesterday too. The same chair.
Old man: I sit here every day. I watch the street.
Neighbour: Is there much to watch? It's a quiet street.
Old man: Yesterday, a new shop opened. That's a big change.
Neighbour: A change! What was here before?
Old man: A flower shop. For fifty years. Now it's gone.
Neighbour: Fifty years. That's a long time. Do you miss it?
Old man: A little. But people still visit me. My son will visit today.
Neighbour: So today is a good day.
Old man: Yes. Yesterday and today, what's the difference? The street changes. But at the end of the day, my son comes. That never changes.
