The Lonely Goldfish
A man walked into the vet's office in Brooklyn, carrying a small box. The vet looked up from her desk.
“What seems to be the problem?” she asked.
“It's my goldfish,” the man said. “He's not well. He just lies at the bottom of the bowl all day.”
The vet looked into the box. “Does he eat?”
“A little. Not much.”
“How long has he been like this?”
“About a week. I'm really worried. Tell me, how much will the medicine cost?”
The vet smiled. “Well, I can give you something. But have you tried the cheaper option first?”
“What's that?”
“A second goldfish. They get lonely too, you know.”
