Recycling Week at Oakfield School
It is Recycling Week at Oakfield School, and we need your help. Last month, we ran a survey, and the results were not good. Our school throws away far too much, and we ought to do better.
So here is your guide. You should read it, and then you should change one small thing.
First, paper. You should not throw paper in the normal bin. There are several green boxes in every classroom. Use either the box by the door or the box by the window — both are for paper.
Second, plastic bottles. You should rinse them before you put them in the blue bin. A dirty bottle cannot be recycled, so please wash them, but a quick rinse is enough.
Third, food. You really ought to take only as much food as you can eat. The survey showed that students throw away hundreds of half-eaten lunches every week. If you take less, you waste less.
We want to increase recycling by half this year. That is a big goal, but we can do it.
So, will you support Recycling Week? You do not have to do everything. You should just do one thing, and do it well. And if everyone does one thing, that is a thousand small things. That is how a school changes.
