Over the Fence
Theo wanted to fix his old chair, but he had no glue. He looked over the fence. Mrs Bauer was in her garden.
“Mrs Bauer, do you have any glue?” he asked.
“There is a little in the box,” she said. “Take it. I have enough.”
Theo fixed his chair. It felt good. But now Mrs Bauer needed help too.
“Theo, can you carry these pots?” she called. “There are too many for me.”
“Of course,” Theo said. He carried each pot to the door. It only took a few minutes.
Mrs Bauer smiled. “You see? Two people, and the work is small.”
“Next time, just call me over the fence,” Theo said.
