My Homework: My Grandmother
For homework, I must interview a person in my family. I choose my grandmother.
I ask her some questions, and I write down her answers.
“What is your age?” I ask.
“I’m eighty,” she says. “But I feel young.”
“What is your favorite thing?”
“This old photo. It’s a family photo of my own mother.”
“Tell me something personal.”
“I still love to dance,” she says.
“What do you love about our family?”
“You,” she says. “All of you.”
I write it all down. Now I know: my grandmother is not just old. She is my friend.
