Hello, Spring
Two old friends stand on the small platform. The train is coming.
“Goodbye,” says the first friend. “I will miss you.”
“Not goodbye,” says the other. “Just hello, later. I will return in spring.”
“You will travel so far.”
“And then I will visit you. We will sit here again.”
The train comes. One friend gets on; one stays. They wave until the platform is empty. Hello, spring.
