Grandpa's New Phone
Hana sat next to her grandfather at the kitchen table. A new smartphone lay between them.
“I can't do it,” he said. “This screen is too small.”
“It's easy, Grandpa,” Hana said. “Look. Touch the green app. Then type your name.”
He touched the screen with one slow finger. “Like this?”
“Yes. Now press here to download the photos.”
A small picture opened. It was Hana as a baby, in his arms.
“I can see it,” he said quietly. “I can see you.”
“See? You can do it,” Hana said. “Tomorrow I'll show you the camera.”
Her grandfather smiled at the screen. “This little device knows my whole life,” he said. “But it can't make tea. So put it down and help me.”
Hana laughed and got up. “Okay, Grandpa. First the tea. Then the camera.”
