A Gift for Mom
Hedda came into the museum shop. It was nearly closing time.
“Can I help you?” the shop worker asked.
“Yes, please. I’d like a small gift for my mom.” Hedda looked at her list. “Something for the kitchen, maybe.”
“This cup is nice. Or that key ring, by the phone.”
Hedda picked up the cup. “Can I have this one?”
“Of course,” the worker said.
“And that key ring too, please. My mom always loses her key.”
“Good choice,” the worker said. “Now she can find it.”
