Where Everything Is

(A flat on Cedar Street. The first morning. Twelve boxes, no furniture.)

Tobias: Where's the kettle?

Mabel: In the blue box, under the towels.

Tobias: And the cups?

Mabel: Same box, on top of the kettle.

Tobias: Where's the sugar?

Mabel: In the little bag, in the box by the door.

Tobias: Spoons?

Mabel: Under the sugar.

(Tobias opens the box by the door. The spoons are under the sugar.)

Tobias: You're always right. Where's the shower?

Mabel: Behind the green door.

Tobias: Okay. Where's the list?

Mabel: What list?

Tobias: The list of the boxes. Your list.

Mabel: Oh. It's probably in a box.

Tobias: Which box?

Mabel: I don't know. It's on the list.
