The Second Interview
The manager looked at the papers. Hana sat very straight in her chair.
“So, you want to be an architect,” he said. “Have you worked on any real buildings?”
“Yes,” Hana said. “I've helped design two small houses. And I've studied for five years.”
“Good. What's your biggest advantage?”
Hana thought for a moment. “I listen. A building has to fit the people who live in it.”
The manager nodded. “Have you ever made a big mistake?”
“Once,” she said. “I forgot a window in my first plan. Now I always check twice.”
He smiled. “Honest. I like that. Could you attend a second interview on Friday?”
Hana let out her breath. “Yes. Thank you. I'd love to.”
