Say It Again, Slowly
Jakub is calling from the station. Yolanda is at her desk on the fourth floor.
Jakub: Hi, it’s me. Can you send the deal to the printer?
Yolanda: The meal?
Jakub: The deal. The paper for the eleven o’clock meeting.
Yolanda: Sorry, the line’s terrible. Deal. Printing it now.
Jakub: And book the small room for three.
Yolanda: For free?
Jakub: For three! Three o’clock.
Yolanda: Three. Got it.
Jakub: Is the coffee machine working again?
Yolanda: The copy machine?
Jakub: The coffee machine.
Yolanda: Sadly, no. Neither of them, actually.
Jakub: Perfect. Last thing, and this one matters. Don’t tell anyone the number. It’s a secret until Friday.
Yolanda: You want a cucumber?
Jakub: A cucumber.
Yolanda: For the meeting?
Jakub: Yes, Yolanda. Bring a big cucumber to the meeting.
Yolanda: Say it again. Slowly. I’m listening.
(Jakub walks into the office with the phone still at his ear.)
Jakub: The. Number. Is. A. Secret.
Yolanda: You don’t have to shout. You’re standing next to me.
Jakub: You still can’t hear me.
Yolanda: I can hear you fine. I just wanted the cucumber.
