Good Night, Dad
It is my first night in the new city. I am tired, so I call home. I pick up the telephone and I call my dad.
“Hello?” he says.
“Hello, Dad. It’s me, Rosa.”
“Rosa! How are you?”
“I’m okay. I am calling from my new room. It is small, but it is nice.”
“Good, good. Is the city big?”
“Yes, very big. But I am happy. Don’t worry about me.”
“Okay. Your mom says hello too.”
“Say hello to Mom for me. I love you, Dad.”
“I love you too. Good night, Rosa.”
“Good night. Goodbye.”
I put down the phone. The room is quiet now. But I am not alone. It is a good first night.
