Who Goes First
Milo: I go first.
Chloe: Why?
Milo: I'm the oldest.
Chloe: You're four minutes older.
Chloe: It's Snakes and Ladders, Milo. It's not the World Cup.
Milo: Fine. We each roll. Big number goes first.
(Milo rolls a two. Chloe rolls a five.)
Chloe: Five. I go first.
Milo: Wait. Small number goes first. Small is better.
Chloe: You said big number!
Milo: I don't say that any more.
(Chloe rolls again and gets a one.)
Chloe: One. I go first again.
Milo: Then big number! Big number is better!
Chloe: Look at the clock, Milo.
Milo: Oh no.
Chloe: Eight o'clock. Bed. Nobody goes first.
(Milo puts the board back in the box.)
Milo: Tomorrow I go first.
Chloe: Tomorrow we roll.
