Which Way Is the Town?
The tourist stands on the windy hill with a big paper map. A farmer walks by with his dog.
“Excuse me,” the tourist says. “Where is the town?”
The farmer points. “The town is north. Go north, down the hill.”
“North,” the tourist says. “And the river?”
“The river is south,” the farmer says. “It is behind you.”
The tourist turns the map around. “And the sea? Is it east or west?”
“The sea is west,” the farmer says. “The hills are east.”
The wind takes the map. It goes up, up, and over the farmer's head.
“My map!” the tourist says. “Now I am lost.”
The farmer points one more time. “The town is north. However, you can also just follow me. I live there.”
