Twelve Months on the Wall
My old calendar hangs on the kitchen wall. I turn the pages, one by one.
In July, we are at the sea. The page is full of sun.
In August, my sister has a birthday. There is a small cake on the page.
In September, the children go back to school. The mornings are cool again.
In October, the trees turn red and gold.
In November, the days are short and grey. We stay home a lot.
In December, there is snow. The last page has a little star on it.
Now it is a new year. I take the old calendar down. Twelve months, all gone. But I keep this old one in a box. The pictures are too good to lose.
