The Spider's Plan
I am a small spider. I live in a quiet corner of the forest. Last night, a big green tent came to my home. A family of campers put it right on top of my web.
This was a problem. So I made a plan.
While the family was sleeping, I walked into the tent. Other insects came too. A beetle climbed under the bag. Two flies sat on the warm shoe. A long worm rested beside the cold water bottle.
In the morning, the family woke up. The mother saw me on the pillow and shouted. The father saw the beetle in his shoe. The children ran outside in their socks.
“Too many bugs!” the father said. “This is wild. Let's go home.”
They packed the big green tent and drove away. The forest was quiet again. I sat in the middle of my web, very happy. The campers thought the insects were the problem. But I was the boss of this forest all along.
