The Interview
Marisol: Thanks for coming in. Have you ever worked in a café before?
Applicant: A little. I made coffee at a small place near my school, but that was just weekends.
Marisol: That's fine. Honestly, I employ people for their attitude, not their résumé.
Applicant: Oh. Okay.
Marisol: So tell me — have you ever dealt with an angry customer?
Applicant: Um, once. A man's order was wrong, and he was really upset. I just stayed calm and remade it for free.
Marisol: See, that's experience. That matters more than years.
Applicant: I was worried I didn't have enough.
Marisol: Most people who say that turn out great. The confident ones scare me.
Applicant: So… should I consider this a yes?
Marisol: I need an assistant who learns fast and stays kind. You just showed me both.
Applicant: Wait, really?
Marisol: Can you start Monday?
