Read Once, Read Five Times

Lucy: Big exam on Monday. How do you study, Theo?

Theo: I read the book once. Then I close it. Done.

Lucy: Once? I read everything five times. I repeat and repeat.

Theo: Five times is too much. My head is full after one.

Lucy: But the exam is hard! Do you do the old questions too?

Theo: No. I don't like exercises. I just read.

Lucy: I love the exercises. I do every exercise in the book.

Theo: And who gets the better mark, you or me?

Lucy: …You do. Every time.

Theo: So maybe reading once is better.

Lucy: Or maybe you're just clever, and I have to work. See you at college on Monday.
