Look Behind You
Marek: Hana, the bus leaves at six tomorrow. We’re going to be late again.
Hana: We’re not going to be late. I packed an hour ago.
Marek: Where are my ski pants? I can’t find them.
Hana: Look downstairs. You left them by the door.
(Marek runs downstairs.)
Marek: Found them! But where’s my belt?
Hana: It’s upstairs, in your bag. I packed it.
Marek: And my gloves?
Hana: In the bag. Stop asking and check the bag.
Marek: This bag is enormous. What did you put in here?
Hana: Your clothing, your boots, your snacks. Everything.
Marek: Wait. Where are the ski tickets?
Hana: I’m holding them. I’ve been holding them the whole time.
Marek: Okay. So we’re ready?
Hana: I’m ready. You’re going to be ready once you sit down and stop running.
Marek: Fine. I’ll sit.
(Marek sits. Then he stands up again.)
Marek: One more thing. Where’s my other ski?
Hana: Marek. Look behind you.
