Four Floors
(Number 12, Rosen Street. Saturday morning. Elin has a big bag of apples by the door.)
Elin: Kofi! Are you free?
Kofi: Um. Yes?
Elin: Good. This bag is very heavy, and I live on the fourth floor.
Kofi: Four floors?
Elin: Twenty apples. From my sister's garden.
(Kofi takes the bag. They start up the stairs.)
Kofi: One… two… three…
Elin: Careful. Don't hit the wall.
Kofi: Sorry.
(They stop on the fourth floor. Kofi puts the bag down.)
Kofi: My back!
Elin: Thank you, Kofi. Now take five apples.
Kofi: Five? For me?
Elin: Yes. And next Saturday my sister sends potatoes.
Kofi: Potatoes? How many kilos?
Elin: Thirty.
Kofi: Oh no. My back.
