A Day with a Cook

What does a cook do all day? A lot of cooking, of course! But cooking is not the only action in a kitchen.

First, the cook gets the food ready. This activity takes a long time. The cook washes, cuts, and counts. To prepare a good meal, you must prepare the small things first.

Then comes the hot action. The cook cooks the meat. The cook cooks the rice. Many pots, all at the same time!

A cook is kind, too. The cook makes the kind of food that you love. A birthday cake. Your best soup.

At the end of the day, the cook cleans up. It is a big job. But to a cook, every kind of meal is a happy activity.
