The Cat and the Bird
It’s spring. Every morning, an old man sits under a big tree in the park. He has bread and cheese.
A black cat is in the park too. It sees a small brown bird on the grass. The cat wants the bird.
The cat runs, but now the bird is in the tree. The cat runs to the tree too. Then the bird is on the grass again. The cat runs to the grass. Now the bird is on the man’s head.
The cat can’t sit on the man’s head. So it sits next to the man and waits.
The man eats his bread. He gives bread to the bird, and he gives cheese to the cat.
Now the cat isn’t hungry. It sleeps next to the man. And the bird? It sits on the cat’s head and sings.
