The Big Green Blanket

Leo and Hattie put the big green blanket over two chairs. Now it's a fort. It's a very good fort.

Then the blanket falls on Leo's head.

“Again,” Hattie says.

They put the blanket back on the chairs. Hattie puts a box under it. The box falls and hits the floor, and the blanket falls on Leo's head again.

“Why my head?” Leo says.

“Because you're under it,” Hattie says.

Hattie goes to the shelf and takes four big books. She puts one book on every corner of the blanket. Now the fort is strong. Leo and Hattie go in and sit down. It's dark in there. It's warm. It's a very good fort.

Then their mom calls them. Dinner!

Hattie comes out. Leo comes out. The blanket falls on his head one more time.

“I love this fort,” Leo says, under the blanket.
