The Best Month
A small girl stood by the calendar with her grandfather.
“When is my birthday?” she asked.
“In April,” he said. “We have cake in April.”
“And when is the snow?”
“In December. The snow comes in December.”
“And when do we swim?”
“In June. We swim in June, when it’s hot.”
The girl smiled and pointed at the wall.
“And this month?” she asked.
“This month,” he said, “is the best month of all.”
