Stay Ahead of the Water
Good afternoon, visitors. This is a radio announcement from the park ranger station.
If you are walking near the river today, please listen carefully. The water level is higher than average this week, because of the rain.
You must not cross the old wooden bridge. It is closed. The border between the north and south paths is marked with red tape. The south path is closed, so you must stay on the north side.
If you want to reach the picnic area, there is a safe path ahead, about one mile north. Follow the blue signs.
Please attach your trash bags to your backpacks. Do not leave them on the ground. The animals here are wild, and food on the ground is dangerous for them.
If the weather changes, you must come back to the station. If you hear three long sounds from the speakers, that means: leave the river path now.
The river is beautiful, but it is strong. Stay safe, stay ahead of the water, and enjoy your day in the park.
