Lemon Soup

Chef: Tonight we're making lemon soup. First, take a lemon. Did you take a lemon, Dieter?

Dieter: Yes, Chef. It's in the pot.

Chef: Good. Now, do NOT boil the lemon yet. First, boil the water.

Dieter: But the lemon is already boiling.

Chef: What? Take it out! We boil the water first, then we add the lemon. Use your spoon.

(Dieter takes the hot lemon out with his spoon.)

Chef: Okay. Now boil the water.

Dieter: Which water?

Chef: The water in the big pot.

Dieter: This pot? But this is the sauce.

Chef: You boiled the sauce?

Dieter: You said boil the water. The sauce looked like water.

Chef: It's yellow, Dieter. Water isn't yellow.

Dieter: My water is. I put the lemon in it before.

(The chef looks at the pot for a long time.)

Chef: You know what? Let's just call this lemon soup. It's perfect.
