Bigger Glasses
Yusuf sat at the kitchen table with his phone. His granddaughter pulled a chair next to him.
“Okay, Grandpa,” she said. “We're going to download your bank's app. It's easy.”
“Easy for you,” Yusuf said. “Where do I press?”
“Just press the green button now. See? It says ‘Get the app.'”
Yusuf pressed it. “And now?”
“Now we're going to enter your details. Type your name here, and your card number here.”
“Which number? I have many cards.”
“The one with the credit on it,” she said. “The blue one.”
Yusuf typed slowly. “And this app — can I control my money with it? Every day?”
“Every day,” she said. “You can check it daily. You can move money, pay bills, everything.”
Yusuf smiled. “So I don't go to the bank anymore?”
“No, Grandpa. The bank comes to you now.” She pointed at the phone. “It's all right there.”
Yusuf looked at the small screen. “Then I'm going to need bigger glasses.”
