Who Swims Better?
A duck and a frog lived in the same pond. It was April, and the water was warm again.
“Who swims better?” asked the duck. “Me or you?”
“Me,” said the frog. “I am faster. Watch.”
The frog swam fast. The duck swam fast too.
“Who is bigger?” asked the duck.
“You are bigger,” said the frog. “But I am faster.”
“Who can fly?” asked the duck.
The frog looked up. “Not me,” he said.
The duck went up into the April sky. “I swim and I fly,” she called down. “I think I am better!”
The frog jumped onto a stone. “Maybe,” he said. “But this is my stone, and you can’t have it.”
