Three Clocks
(Saturday, ten past ten. Ruby is on the town hall steps. Graham is in the railway station car park.)
Ruby: Where are you? I'm right here.
Graham: So am I. Under the clock.
Ruby: I'm under the clock.
Ruby: I'm waving. Can you see me?
Graham: I can see a bus, a taxi and about forty cars. No you.
Ruby: There aren't any cars here. There's the library on my left and the town hall behind me.
Graham: The town hall? I'm at the station. My clock is on the wall by the ticket office.
Ruby: Mine is above the door.
Graham: So there are two clocks.
Ruby: Three. There's one on the swimming pool as well.
Graham: …Ruby.
Ruby: Wait. I'm reading the message again.
(Ten seconds.)
Ruby: It says ten fifteen, by the clock at the pool.
Graham: By the clock at the pool.
Graham: I read that message twice.
Ruby: The pool is behind the library. I can be there in six minutes.
Graham: Four for me. I'm walking now.
Ruby: Don't run. She's always late anyway.
Graham: I'm not running. I'm going to stand under the right clock and look like I've been there since ten.
