The Park at Home
It’s Saturday. Teo and Lars have a new red ball.
“Mom, can we go to the park?” Lars asks.
Mom is at the window. “No. It’s raining,” she says.
The boys can’t go, so Teo is sad. Lars is angry.
Then Mom puts two chairs next to the bed. She puts a green coat on the floor. “This is the park,” she says. “The chairs are trees, and the coat is grass.”
Teo laughs. The boys play with the ball. They run between the trees. The ball goes under the bed. Lars finds it. It goes under the bed again.
Then the rain stops.
“Boys! It isn’t raining now,” Mom says. “You can go to the park.”
But Teo and Lars are on the grass, between the trees. “No, thanks, Mom,” Teo says. “We like this park.”
