The Boat Race
(A big puddle on Green Street, after the storm.)
Ola: Two paper boats. Ready? Go!
Ivo: Go, boat, go! … Oh. Your boat is first again.
Ola: Three times. I’m good at this.
Ivo: And my boat is breaking. It’s all wet.
Ola: Here. Take my newspaper. Make a big one.
Ivo: Okay. A big one. In the water… Go! Go! … It’s not going.
Ola: Mine, too. Wait a minute.
(Ola blows on her boat. It goes to the end of the puddle.)
Ivo: Grandma! You can’t do that!
Ola: I can. I’m the grandmother.
Ivo: Then I can do it too.
(Ivo blows. Both boats come back to his feet.)
Ola: Good race. Now nobody wins.
Ivo: Again!
