Saturday Market
On Saturday, the small town has a market. There are stalls in every street.
The first section is for food. There is every type of fruit: red apples, green apples, big yellow ones.
Next to the fruit, an old man sells clocks. Each clock is a different style. One is new, one is very old. He has one model from a hundred years ago.
In the next section, a woman sells small objects for the house: cups, plates, little boxes.
At the end, there is the food you eat now. Hot soup, of course. And bread, and tea.
People walk slowly from stall to stall. They look, they talk, they buy a little.
At one o'clock, the market is done. The stalls come down. The street is empty and quiet again — until next Saturday.
