Rex Can’t Swim
Kate has a dog, Rex. Kate can swim. She swims in the river every day.
Rex can’t swim. He sits and watches.
“Come, Rex! Swim!” says Kate.
Rex sits. He can’t swim.
A duck is swimming in the river. Rex stands up. He wants the duck.
“Rex! Stop!” says Kate.
Rex runs. He is in the river. He is swimming!
“Rex can swim!” says Kate, and she laughs.
The duck swims, and Rex swims. The duck swims and swims. Rex swims and swims.
“Rex, come back!” says Kate.
Rex can swim, and he likes it.
Kate sits and watches.
