Lena's First Experiment
Lena loves science. Today the class has a new lesson.
The teacher puts a glass of water on the table. He has salt, an egg, and a spoon.
“Watch,” the teacher says. “We do an experiment.”
He puts the egg in the water. The egg goes down to the bottom.
“Now we add salt,” he says. He puts a lot of salt in the water. He uses the spoon. Lena watches the egg.
Slowly, the egg comes up. It stops in the middle of the glass.
“Why?” Lena asks. “Why does the egg come up?”
The teacher smiles. “Salt water is strong.” “It holds the egg.”
Lena writes in her book. She wants to remember this.
“Is my answer correct?” she asks.
The teacher reads her book. “Yes.” “It is correct.”
Lena is happy. Science is fun.
