How an Electric Bus Works
An electric bus does not use petrol. It uses a big battery. The battery is full of power, and the power turns the engine. The engine moves the wheels, and the bus goes.
Every night, the bus stops at the garage. A driver puts a thick cable in the back of the bus. The cable comes from the wall. All night, the battery fills with power. In the morning, the bus is ready.
The electric engine is very quiet. An old bus is loud, but this bus is soft. People at the bus stop often do not hear it arrive. The bus is also clean. Old buses make dark smoke, but no smoke comes from an electric bus.
In the city, more and more electric buses are used now. The air is made cleaner by them, and the streets are made quieter too. A bus like this is a small machine with a big job. It moves many people, and it is kind to the city.
