Amazed at Myself

Bram and Otis sat on the sofa after the last episode of their favorite detective show.

“That was the worst ending ever,” Bram said. “The detective just guessed who did it. He had no proof.”

“It's better than your guesses,” Otis said. “You said it was the gardener in episode one.”

“The gardener was annoying, so I wanted it to be him.” Bram laughed. “But come on. The police arrest a man because the detective ‘felt' he was guilty? That's absolutely silly.”

“The detective is always right, though, isn't he?”

“That's the most annoying part. He's never wrong, and I'm amazed people still call it a mystery.”

Otis grinned. “So you'll watch the next season?”

“Of course I will,” Bram said. “I have to see who he arrests next. I'm amazed at myself, honestly.”
